Blanca Carranco

Director of the Pirouette Dance Academy. Teacher, dancer, and choreographer. Born in Mexicali, B.C., she holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from CETYS University, Mexicali Campus.

Blanca Carranco received her training in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and jazz at various institutions in Baja California, San Diego, and New York. From 1981 to 1983, she was the founder and director of the Modern Dance Workshop at CETYS University, Mexicali Campus, initiating a dance movement within the institution. She performed with Tatiana Chevchenko’s ballet in Swan Lake, La Bayadère, and in the opera Carmina Burana. She also participated in the Modern Dance Choreographic Workshop of UABC, Mexicali Campus, and with Eveoke Dance Company in San Diego.

She is certified as a teacher in the first levels of the Vaganova method by instructors from the Bolshoi. She also pursued studies in dance pedagogy at Eveoke Dance Theatre in San Diego, CA. Blanca has participated as a guest dancer and teacher at various academies in San Diego, Mexicali, and Tijuana.
